Rosemary Michael Obituary, Death; – A Superior Court in Liberty County has convicted Davonta Johnson for the murder of Rosemary Michael, which occurred in 2021.
On January 20, 2021, law enforcement responded to a report of a carjacking at a convenience store situated at the intersection of Memorial Drive and Gause Street around 6 p.m. Upon their arrival, officers discovered Michael unresponsive on the ground next to the driver’s side of her vehicle. She was declared dead at the scene.
Surveillance footage captured the incident, revealing a suspect in dark attire approaching Michael from the front of her vehicle. The suspect brandished a firearm and shot Michael before fleeing across the street to the Liberty Prayer Church. The individual in dark clothing was subsequently identified as Davonta Johnson.
