Kelly Calderon Obituary, Death; – A 28-year-old woman who was fatally struck by a hit-and-run driver in South Los Angeles has been identified by county officials on Wednesday.
The victim has been named as Kelly Calderon by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s office. She was declared dead at the scene of the incident.
Officers from the Los Angeles Police Department responded to the scene at the intersection of Figueroa Street and West Colden Avenue at 12:02 a.m. on Tuesday. According to an LAPD spokesperson, the driver was heading north on Figueroa at a high speed when they collided with the pedestrian, who was in the process of crossing the street.
The driver fled the scene without stopping, and there is currently no description of the vehicle. The driver remains unidentified and at large. The investigation into this tragic incident is being handled by the LAPD’s South Traffic Bureau.
