Kevin M Davis Obituary, Death; – Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office deputies released a person of interest just hours after a fatal shooting occurred in Lincoln County on Monday, according to a statement from the sheriff’s office. The individual was initially booked on a manslaughter charge before being released.
The shooting took place in the 300 block of South Highway W, as noted in the statement. Lincoln County deputies, along with Missouri State Highway Patrol troopers, were dispatched to the scene following a report of the shooting around noon on Monday.
“Upon arrival, they found an adult male with what appeared to be a gunshot wound,” the statement indicated. “The male was pronounced dead at the scene.”
The sheriff’s office disclosed the identity of the victim on Monday evening after notifying the family. “The deceased has been identified as Kevin M. Davis, 38 years old, from Elsberry, Missouri,” the statement confirmed.
At 1:40 p.m., the sheriff’s office informed the public about the shooting via a social media post, advising them to steer clear of the area while assuring that there was no threat to the community. As of 10:45 a.m. on Tuesday, no charges related to the incident have been listed on Missouri’s online court records website.
