The incident took place last Friday at approximately 11:24 AM at the McDonald’s located at 301 Warren Street. Officials have released the 19-year-old man killed in a pursuit that ended in a crash with Pennsylvania State Troopers Thursday, June 6. Troopers were attempting to stop Matthew Stepp, of Lehighton, in a 2008 GMC Sierra 1500 for code violations around 6:24 p.m. Thursday, Trooper Anthony Petroski III said. Stepp failed to stop, though, initiating a 10-mile pursuit, during which Stepp “committed numerous vehicle code violations,” Petroski said. According to the Statesville Police Department, the recent death of a Statesville woman has been ruled a homicide. 33-year-old Shelbie Smith was found deceased in her home on Hickory Avenue in Statesville at approximately 4 a.m. on Saturday, May 1. One person was killed and another seriously injured in an overnight hit-and-run crash on Long Island. It happened just before 2 a.m. Saturday, June 8, in Medford. A tractor-trailer was traveling northwest on Horseblock Road and attempting to make a left turn onto Express Drive North when it was struck by a 2008 BMW, Suffolk County Police said. The driver of the BMW fled on foot. One passenger in the BMW was pronounced dead at the scene by a physician assistant from the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner. A man from the region has been charged with the alleged burglary of a business that caused extensive damage. Dutchess County resident Konrad Gumper, age 46, of LaGrange, was arrested early Thursday, June 7, in connection with a burglary at Vale Fox Distillery on Noxon Road in LaGrange. According to Capt. John Watterson of the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office deputies located Gumper on the premises when he fled on foot, and an area search was conducted.
