When they arrived, they saw smoke coming from a residential structure. CHARLOTTE (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Officials are investigating an intentionally set fire to a Family Dollar in east Charlotte that caused more than $1 million in damages, Charlotte Fire reported. Around 3:20 a.m. Sunday, crews responded to the fire at the Family Dollar on the 6200 block of The Plaza. On Dec. 29, 2024, several Tornado Warnings popped up across the state, including Mecklenburg, York, Iredell, Rowan, Gaston, Anson, and Richmond counties.
