Nicole Pleasant Obituary – The woman who lost her life in a tragic incident of domestic violence on Saturday has been identified as Nicole Pleasant, 45, by the Franklin County Coroner’s Office. The fatal event occurred on Lockwood Road.
A Columbus police union representative reported that Pleasant was fatally shot by an armed individual who later engaged in a shootout with the police around 7 p.m. on McAllister Avenue. Following the exchange of gunfire, the suspect was struck by at least one officer and pronounced dead at 7:50 p.m. Fortunately, no officers sustained injuries during the incident. The identity of the deceased suspect has not been disclosed. This incident marked the first of two fatal encounters involving Columbus police.
The second incident took place on Sunday, where a suspect involved in a shooting at a West Jefferson Amazon facility shot a Columbus police officer. The suspect, identified as 22-year-old Hamsa Yusuf Ali, was subsequently shot and killed by police on Georgesville Road.
