Michael Borelli Obituary, Death; – City police have confirmed the identity of the motorcyclist who tragically lost his life in a collision on Chapel Street on Saturday. New Haven Police Officer Christian Bruckhart reported that Michael Borelli, a 43-year-old resident of the city, succumbed to injuries sustained in the incident.
Bruckhart stated that officers were dispatched to the intersection of Chapel Street and Union Street at 2:29 p.m. following reports of a motorcycle accident. Upon arrival, they discovered Borelli, the motorcyclist, suffering from severe injuries.
Emergency personnel from the New Haven Fire Department and American Medical Response arrived shortly thereafter, where Borelli was pronounced dead at the scene. Bruckhart confirmed that the man’s family has been informed of his passing.
According to Bruckhart, the driver of the other vehicle involved, a Chevrolet Malibu, remained at the location following the accident.
A preliminary investigation indicated that the Malibu was traveling west on Chapel Street and began to make a left turn onto Union Street when it collided with the motorcycle, which was heading east on Chapel. The investigation is still in progress.
