John Bruce Martinez Obituary, Death; – Arkansas State Police officials reported that a teenager lost his life and three others sustained injuries in a crash that occurred after a high-speed chase on Saturday night.
As per a statement, officers from the North Little Rock Police Department sought the assistance of the Arkansas State Police shortly before 11 p.m. while pursuing a vehicle heading west on Interstate 40 with its headlights turned off and traveling at speeds exceeding 120 mph.
Troopers joined the chase near Mile Marker 145, where the vehicle reached speeds of 130 mph before exiting at 142 onto Highway 365. Authorities indicated that the driver, later identified as 19-year-old John Bruce Martinez from Mabelvale, lost control of the vehicle, veered off the road, and collided with several trees.
Officials confirmed that Martinez was pronounced dead at the scene, while three 17-year-old passengers, also from Mabelvale, were taken to Children’s Hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.
