Charlie Wilson Obituary, Death; – A murder suspect from Houston was discovered deceased in El Salvador earlier this year, as reported by investigators. Alvaro Lovos, aged 52, faced murder charges related to the killing of his neighbor, Charlie Wilson, who was 67 years old.
Wilson was fatally stabbed with a machete outside a convenience store in the north side on November 19, 2024. He sustained 25 stab wounds, primarily to his head and neck. Court documents indicate that Lovos inflicted 15 of those wounds after Wilson had ceased moving.
During questioning, authorities reported that Lovos denied any involvement in Wilson’s death. An officer spoke with Lovos, who presented a passport from El Salvador and claimed to have heard a disturbance, subsequently witnessing two individuals leaving the scene near Wilson’s body. He was not apprehended at that moment.
Following a review of surveillance footage, Lovos was identified as the suspect and subsequently charged with murder. Earlier this year, detectives from the Houston Police Department received information suggesting that Lovos had escaped to El Salvador, where he was later found dead. The Gulf Coast Violent Offender’s Task Force confirmed his death on January 19.
The motive behind Lovos’s attack on Wilson remains unclear.
