A Howell Township man was accused of stabbing his mother to death in their home, authorities said. Robert Parody, 25, was charged with first-degree murder and a weapons offense, Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond Santiago said in a news release. He was accused of killing his 61-year-old mother Loretta Parody on Monday, June 3. Howell police responded to a stabbing report at a home on Porter Road just before 1:30 a.m. Officers quickly found Robert Parody and arrested him. One person was killed and a driver is at large following an early-morning crash involving a pedestrian in Montgomery County on Monday, according to police. An investigation was launched after a pedestrian was fatally struck shortly after 1:15 a.m. on June 3 in the 1000 block of University Boulevard in Takoma Park, investigators say. The driver then fled the scene and has not been located. It is now being investigated by the Montgomery County Police Collision Reconstruction Unit. The chain of events happened on Friday, May 31, and began in Freeport, according to the Nassau County Police. Gwendolyn Blake Obituary – A Monroe County woman died in a two-vehicle crash Monday morning. Monroe County Coroner Alan Gurley identified the victim as Gwendolyn Blake, 68, of Prairie. The crash happened shortly before 6:27 on Highway 45 Alternate at Strong Road in Prairie. She died at the scene of the crash, the coroner said. The driver of the second vehicle went to the hospital.
