Austin Metcalf Obituary, Death; – A teenager from North Texas has lost his life, and another has been charged with murder following a deadly stabbing incident that occurred outside a track meet on Wednesday morning.
According to police reports, a confrontation between two teenagers escalated around 10 a.m. in Frisco, approximately 30 miles north of Dallas, resulting in one teen allegedly stabbing the other.
Emergency responders attempted to save the injured victim through various measures, including CPR and blood transfusions, but unfortunately, the teenager succumbed to his injuries at the scene, as stated by the Frisco Police Department.
The suspect, identified as 17-year-old Karmelo Anthony, a resident of Frisco, has been charged with first-degree murder, with no bail set as of Thursday morning, according to police officials.
The stabbing took place at Kuykendall Stadium, part of the Frisco Independent School District, during the University Interscholastic League’s (UIL) District 11-5A championship track meet, as reported by local news outlet WFAA. The victim has been named as 17-year-old Austin Metcalf, a student at Memorial High School, located just three miles from the incident site.
Frisco school officials communicated the tragic news to students and parents through email, as reported by WFAA. A prayer vigil in memory of Metcalf was held on Wednesday evening at Hope Fellowship church in Frisco.
In a news release, the Frisco Police Department expressed its sorrow over the tragic loss, offering condolences to the victim’s family, as well as to students and staff who are grappling with this profound grief. The department assured that it would continue to provide necessary support during this challenging time.
