Brandon Luvine Cunningham Obituary, Death; – A man who was discovered fatally shot in a residence in west Birmingham was named on Thursday morning.
Officer Truman Fitzgerald from the Birmingham Police Department reported that at approximately 10:40 a.m. on Wednesday, authorities received a report of a shooting inside what is suspected to be an abandoned property located in the 3200 block of Avenue S. Upon arrival, officers found a man who had been shot within the premises. Personnel from the Birmingham Fire and Rescue Service declared the man deceased at the scene.
Fitzgerald indicated that preliminary investigations suggest a confrontation occurred inside the house between the victim and the alleged assailant. Authorities believe the suspect shot the victim and suspect that criminal activities may have been occurring in the house prior to the incident.
The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office has identified the deceased as 42-year-old Brandon Luvine Cunningham. Anyone with information regarding the shooting is encouraged to contact the Birmingham Police Department at 205-254-1764 or to provide an anonymous tip to Crime Stoppers at 205-254-7777.
