Police are investigating a smash and grab robbery at a jewelry store in Clinton on Tuesday evening.
The robbery was reported at Kay Jewelers around 5:30 p.m. when two males allegedly entered the store and began smashing multiple display cases, according to Sgt. Spencer Mangs of the Clinton Police Department.
Mangs said the individuals made off with an unknown amount of merchandise. The value of the stolen jewelry is still being assessed.
No injuries were reported, and no weapons were shown in the robbery.
According to Mangs, detectives are investigating and have developed “strong leads,” with “further developments” being anticipated.
“Due to the active and ongoing nature of the investigation, additional details are not being released at this time,” Mangs said in a statement.
