A 21-year-old is in critical condition after he reportedly lost control of an off-road vehicle and hit a sign in Waterbury.
According to Waterbury Police, officers responded to 737 Bank St. for reports of a serious accident around 6:28 a.m. Thursday.
Officers said they believe a 21-year-old was riding a CanAm UTV south on Bank Street while it was snowing. Police said they believe the conditions were slippery and the operator soon lost control of the vehicle and hit a sign. He was transported to a hospital and is currently in critical condition, receiving care for life-threatening injuries to his head and body, police said.
