Magicians, musicians and merriment are all featured this week in CT arts

It’s a week of magic on Connecticut stages. First there are the actual magic makers such as young illusionist Justin Willman and the exhibitionist pair of Naked Magicians. Then there are familiar faces in unexpected places, like ubiquitous TV stars Steve-O or Chris Hardwick at the same comedy club on different nights.

There are also magical transformations like a sketch comedy team creating a new Disney parody or The Lone Bellow becoming a bigger band or a Shakespeare comedy with a musical score by the creator of “Suffs.” Also there are magical combinations like the fashion mavens of Deadby5am and their hip-hop music friends.

Some would call Kevin, Joe and Nick Jonas touring together again “feats of magic” like Randy Rainbow twisting another pop song. You can also wonder at combinations like Marc Cohn and Shawn Colvin or glam magic with Dee Snider, Lita Ford and Firehouse.
