Welcome to the weekend! And welcome to November! It felt like October was in a hurry to leave with the gusty winds across the region Friday afternoon where many places experienced gusts between 40-50 mph. It’ll be a little breezy again Saturday, but winds will be much less with gusts only between 20-25 mph. Otherwise, conditions will be ideal for early November with plenty of sunshine and high temperatures around 60 degrees.
Under clear skies and with calm winds temperatures will be able to cool off a little more tonight with low temps likely settling in the upper 30s and low 40s. As a result, some areas of patchy frost will be possible early Sunday morning. The early-morning chill will not last for long as temperatures rebound into the low 60s once again under mostly sunny skies.
Through the weekend high pressure will be the main influence over our weather, but in the meantime a system from the Midwest will be meeting up with a developing coast low off the Carolina coast. By Sunday night these systems will merge to our south sending increasing clouds our way and even a few showers south of the I-95 corridor. A chance for a few light showers will continue through Monday, but the best chance for rain will remain generally south of Philadelphia.
By Monday night the system will push east allowing for the sunshine to return through the middle of next week. Another fast-moving and relatively weak system will sweep through Wednesday night and bring with it a small chance for a few showers. Right now, it looks like that chance of rain will clear out by Thursday allowing the sunshine to return with just slightly cooler temperatures with highs in the mid-upper 50s for next Thursday and Friday.
A side note to this weekend, don’t forget THIS SUNDAY we set the clocks back 1 hour, meaning the sun will rise on Sunday morning around 6:30am but set at 4:56pm. Yes, the 4pm hour until January 15th when it sets at 5pm.
