Those close to the couple were aware that an engagement was imminent, although the exact timing was not disclosed, as per People.
“He has always been infatuated with her. He always recognized that she was the one. Their bond is truly exceptional,” a source informed People. The couple shared their engagement news with family and friends around the New Year.
Speculation among the public intensified when Zendaya appeared on the Golden Globes red carpet wearing a Louis Vuitton gown and Bulgari jewelry, notably sporting a ring on her left hand that was not mentioned in Bulgari’s press materials.
As reported by the Los Angeles Times, one of their journalists observed Zendaya’s ring and compared it to her own engagement ring. In response, Zendaya showcased her ring. When asked by the reporter if she was engaged, “she continued to display her ring, smiled playfully, and shrugged her shoulders enigmatically.”
