Zaquavious Dawkins Obituary, Death; – A 16-year-old individual from Gastonia has been charged with the murder of another teenager following an incident that occurred on Sunday night.
According to the Gastonia police, a 16-year-old was shot on North Chester Street in the vicinity of Los Arcos on January 26. The victim was later identified by his family as Zaquavious Dawkins. His mother, Tilise Dawkins, stated that Zaquavious was en route to a nearby store to retrieve an item for her when he was shot.
On Tuesday, authorities announced the arrest of Sean James Curtis Simpson, also 16 years old, in connection with Dawkins’ murder. Simpson faces charges of first-degree murder and attempted first-degree murder.
The investigation remains active as detectives continue to gather information regarding the circumstances that led to the shooting. A GoFundMe campaign has been established to assist the family with funeral expenses.
