Zahkir Whitfield Obituary, Death; – Federal authorities have apprehended a teenage murder suspect linked to the fatal shooting of a 15-year-old boy during a confrontation on a SEPTA bus last month. According to FOX 29’s Kelly Rule, 17-year-old Zayki Davis was arrested by U.S. Marshals in Norristown, approximately 45 minutes from Philadelphia.
Authorities have taken into custody 17-year-old Zayki Davis, who is charged with the fatal shooting of Zahkir Whitfield during a dispute that escalated aboard a SEPTA bus.
Investigators report that on March 22, Davis and Whitfield were part of a group of 5-6 juveniles engaged in a conflict at the rear of the Route 15 bus in West Philadelphia. It is believed that when the bus came to a stop, one of the juveniles exited and discharged a firearm into the bus, striking the Upper Darby High School student in the chest and resulting in his death.
Previously, investigators released surveillance footage from inside the SEPTA bus, which helped identify Davis as the alleged shooter. Additionally, the Philadelphia Police Department has announced a $20,000 reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction in this case.
