According to Colorado officials, a soldier serving at Fort Carson’s Mountain Post perished in a training mishap unrelated to conflict.
According to Fort Carson officials, Lt. Zachary Galli, a Virginia-based explosive ordnance disposal officer, passed away in an incident that happened during training at the Joint Readiness Training Center.
Col. Brennan Fitzgerald remarked, “I must notify you of the passing of 1st Lt. Zachary Galli with the deepest sadness.” “The friends and family of the Galli family, the 749th EOD Co., and the larger EOD community are in our thoughts and prayers.”
About Galli’s passing, no other details were made known right away.
During his nearly two years of service, the 23-year-old soldier was awarded multiple medals, including the National Defense Service Medal and the Army Service Ribbon. Investigations into the disaster are still ongoing.
