gor Correia Obituary – Police are currently conducting an investigation into the death of a teenager who was fatally shot at a large house party in Northborough, Massachusetts. The victim, Ygor Correia, 16, from Bellingham, was shot during the early hours of Sunday morning at a residence on Howard Street. Authorities had already received reports of someone brandishing a gun at the party and were in the process of responding when the incident occurred. Despite being rushed to an ambulance by the police, Correia was pronounced dead at UMass Memorial.
Another 17-year-old was also shot during the altercation, while two additional partygoers sustained non-life-threatening injuries. They were all taken to Marlborough Hospital for treatment. Several other injured individuals, mostly teenagers and young adults, declined medical assistance.
As the investigation unfolds, three individuals have been charged with weapons offenses by the Worcester District Attorney’s Office. However, no one has been directly charged in connection with Correia’s shooting. The party was organized to celebrate a woman’s 21st birthday. A person at the event alerted a Northborough police officer around 1 a.m. about the presence of a person displaying a firearm. The officer immediately called for backup, and as more than two dozen officers approached the house, gunshots were heard. The two injured teenagers were discovered by the police.
Correia was carried down the hill from the property by two officers and transported to UMass Memorial, where he was pronounced dead. The 17-year-old who was shot, along with the two other injured partygoers, received medical attention at Marlborough Hospital for their non-life-threatening injuries. According to investigators, several other teenagers and young adults who sustained injuries chose not to seek medical treatment. Residents of the neighborhood have described it as generally peaceful, except for recent events.
Authorities have revealed that the homeowner was present during the party and had been warned beforehand not to allow it to take place. It remains uncertain whether the homeowner will face charges.
