Xavier Gladney Obituary – The Fresno Police Department has successfully identified a wanted suspect who is believed to be responsible for the death of a man and the injury of a 13-year-old in a shooting incident on Tuesday night.
Upon receiving a ShotSpotter activation at Fairmont and Holt Avenues near Marks and Shaw avenues at 5:30 p.m., officers promptly responded to the scene.
They discovered 37-year-old Xavier Gladney suffering from a gunshot wound and immediately transported him to Community Regional Medical Center. Tragically, Gladney succumbed to his injuries at the hospital. A photograph of the victim can be found below.
Additionally, a 13-year-old juvenile arrived at Community Regional Medical Center with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. The identity of the juvenile has not been officially disclosed. Investigators have determined that the juvenile was present at the residence when Gladney was fatally shot. Homicide detectives have successfully identified the suspect as 33-year-old Darren Williams.
The police have issued a warrant for Williams’ arrest on charges of murder and assault with a deadly weapon. It has been revealed that the motive behind this shooting incident is rooted in a gang-related interpersonal dispute.
