Xavier Cerf. Ivan Gallegos Obituary, – The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner has identified the homeless man who was killed in an altercation on Greek row as 27-year-old Xavier Cerf. Ivan Gallegos, a 19-year-old USC student, is currently in custody with a bail set at $2 million. According to the Los Angeles police, Gallegos and two others confronted Cerf while he was breaking into a car. Gallegos allegedly pulled out a knife and fatally stabbed Cerf.
The incident took place on Monday evening on West 28th Street. Gallegos cooperated with investigators and was later booked, while the other two men were questioned and released. Cerf was found in a nearby alley with stab wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics. Despite Gallegos claiming that Cerf was armed with a gun, no gun was recovered at the scene. The district attorney has not pressed charges against Gallegos.
