CHARLOTTE (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A woman has been hospitalized and her dog is dead following a shooting at an apartment near South End, according to a CMPD police report.
The shooting happened around 3:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 27, inside an apartment unit located along W Kingston Avenue, near the South End neighborhood.
According to CMPD, a 47-year-old woman called 911 stating a known suspect had physically assaulted her and her dog. The report states she had been shot and was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. Another person inside the home had also been assaulted, police said.
CMPD said the dog was pronounced dead at the scene.
Charges listed include assault by pointing a gun, cruelty to animals, and assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury. No word if an arrest has been made in this case.
