A woman who had been serving a life sentence at the Anson Correctional Institution died in her cell this week, according to Anson Correctional staff.
Eva McNair was found unresponsive in her cell Tuesday morning. Correctional staff attempted to help her, and EMS staff arrived shortly after. Despite their efforts, Anson Correctional staff confirmed that she was pronounced dead approximately 30 minutes after she was found unresponsive.
McNair had been serving a life sentence since 1991 for a second-degree murder conviction. Officials stated that no foul play is suspected in her death.
