William Vosler,Eileen Vosler Obituary, Death; – The Pierce County Medical Examiner’s Office has released the identities of four individuals discovered deceased in a South Hill residence on New Year’s Eve.
William Vosler, aged 68, succumbed to injuries from a stab wound to the chest and blunt force trauma to the head, as stated in a news release from the office. This incident occurred near the 18900 block of Eastwood Avenue East.
Eileen Vosler, aged 66, was found to have died from multiple stab wounds to both the chest and neck. The report classified the manner of their deaths as homicide.
Shane Vosler, aged 33, died from a contact gunshot wound to the head, with his death being classified as a suicide. Sue Bin Lee, aged 34, also died from a contact gunshot wound to the head, but her manner of death has been deemed undetermined. All four individuals were residents of the Puyallup area, according to the release.
Prior to the discovery of the bodies on December 31, 2024, there had been four welfare checks conducted at the Eastwood Avenue residence. The News Tribune previously reported that deputies did not have adequate legal grounds to enter the premises during the first three checks.
“The initial welfare check occurred on December 23, followed by checks on December 29 and December 30, culminating in the discovery on December 31,” stated Deputy Carly Cappetto, a spokesperson for the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department, in an email to The News Tribune.
During the welfare check on December 23, a neighbor informed deputies that she had not seen the homeowners or their son since August, as noted in a search warrant reviewed by The News Tribune.
The welfare check on December 29 was initiated following a report from an online acquaintance of one of the homeowner’s sons. This individual informed deputies that the son’s girlfriend had posted on social media on November 12, indicating that “she was considering suicide with (the son).”
A deputy attempted to make contact at the residence that day but received no response. There were no discernible odors, and the deputy did not observe anything that would suggest a death had occurred inside, according to the article.
On December 31, Pierce County deputies were dispatched to the residence for a welfare check and were able to enter the home after the son’s friend provided assistance.
