William Morgan Obituary, Death; – The individual who lost his life after being hit by a freight train on Friday afternoon near Lake Forest has been named.
According to Lake Forest police, officers were dispatched to the intersection of Waukegan and Everett Roads shortly after 12 p.m. following reports of a man being struck by a train.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene and has been identified by the Lake County coroner as 72-year-old William Morgan, a resident of Lake Forest.
The incident affected both the Metra Milwaukee District North and Amtrak Hiawatha train services. Authorities indicated that while service was temporarily suspended, operations continued on one track.
Additionally, the accident resulted in two road closures in the vicinity, specifically Everett Road between Telegraph and Waukegan, as well as Conway Road between Telegraph and Waukegan.
