Emily Nutley, a former teacher and academic supervisor at St. Xavier High School in Cincinnati, Ohio, has been charged with six counts of s*xual battery following allegations of a relationship with a 17-year-old male student assigned to her academic support program. The alleged incidents, which reportedly began in November 2023, included encounters both on and off campus. According to Hamilton County Prosecutor Melissa Powers, Nutley engaged in explicit exchanges with the student, sent nude images, and continued to pursue the relationship even after the student attempted to end it.
Prosecutor Powers condemned Nutley’s behavior, calling it “absolutely unacceptable and reprehensible conduct from an adult.” Powers noted that the student, who required academic support, instead encountered “an adult looking to act out her perverted s*xual desires.” Powers thanked the Springfield Township Police and St. Xavier High School for their diligent investigation, which resulted in Nutley’s dismissal earlier this month.
Hamilton County Prosecutor said “This is absolutely unacceptable and reprehensible conduct from an adult towards a minor child. This child was in need of help and guidance but instead found an adult looking to act out her perverted s*xual desires. I want to thank the Springfield Township Police and St. Xavier High School for their thorough investigation in this matter. Let me be very clear: this is child s*xual abuse. This child was the victim of an adult predator who should never again have a role that puts her in contact with children. She used this child for her own s*xual gratification while taking advantage of the position she held.”
If convicted, Nutley could face up to 15 years in prison and may be required to register as a s*x offender.
