CHARLOTTE (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Snow started coming down in Plaza Midwood in Charlotte around 3:40 p.m. Friday.
After about an hour it changed back into sleet and then freezing rain around 6 p.m.
The City of Charlotte has five priority levels to clear the roads in case of accumulation.
What’s first priority?
Their first priority is major thoroughfares and streets around hospitals and police and fire stations.
What’s second priority?
The city then clears minor thoroughfares and those on Charlotte Area Transit bus routes, followed by major and minor collectors, residential collectors, and the last priority is neighborhood streets.
Queen City News checked in with the Giddy Goat coffee shop in Plaza Midwood Friday. The store says it’s getting more business, especially from food delivery services with the cold weather and snow.
“It feels like Christmas is not over yet, people want to extend Christmas, want to watch a cozy movie, want to drink warm, hot chocolate, and just stay home, you know?” said Santiago Pazos, Team Leader at the Giddy Goat.
