According to an obituary page, a woman who claimed her brother was the one who had attacked her after emerging from a two-year coma has passed away. Wanda Palmer was attacked in June 2020 close to Cottageville, where she was hacked and left for dead, according to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office in 2022.
What Happened?
She was in a coma after the event and had been admitted to the hospital. The criminal complaint for Wanda Palmer’s brother, Daniel Palmer III, states that on June 10, 2020, officials received a call from Wanda Palmer’s neighbors reporting that she was “injured and covered in blood” in her mobile home.
Police Report
When police got on the scene, they say they discovered her “slumped over on her couch,” seriously injured and unconscious. Wanda Palmer appeared to have been “bludgeoned about the head and face with an object that caused lacerations,” according to the description provided by the authorities of her injuries.
She was unable to tell the investigators what had transpired when she was brought to a hospital for treatment. According to the complaint, Wanda Palmer was brought to a nursing home for care while she remained unconscious. That criminal complaint states that on June 27, 2022, she started uttering “some single words.” When she claimed that her brother had attacked her on July 12, 2022, authorities proceeded to speak with her.
After being detained on July 15, 2022, Daniel Palmer III was placed under bond in the South Central Regional Jail, with a $500,000 sum. On July 20, less than a week later, Jackson County Sheriff Ross Mellinger reported that he was brought to the hospital. Daniel Palmer III, he stated, passed away on July 21 a day later.
