Virginia State Amber Alert Missing: One adult and one child were seriously injured after being stabbed in Jay Are Court at Virginia Wesleyan University in Virginia Beach on Wednesday night, and an Amber Alert was issued when the stabbing suspect took three children, all under the age of five, police said.
Around 8:48 p.m., Virginia Beach Police responded to a complaint of a stabbing in the 900 block of Jay Are Court. When they arrived, they discovered two stabbing victims, both of whom were sent to the hospital. Ricky LaBlue, VBPD Media and Communications Coordinator stated on the scene that “it’s serious, not critical injuries at the moment, but again, this is very recent, so things are very volatile.”
Dana Demetrius Plummer, 36, reportedly took three children — 5-year-old Zayin Plummer, 3-year-old Zayir Plummer, and 1-year-old Za’riyah Plummer — after stabbing their mother. According to authorities, he left with the children in a black 2024 Honda Passport SUV with Virginia temporary tag 37550R and drove in an unknown direction.
Dana Plummer is described as a 5-foot-9, 165-pound Black man with dark hair and brown eyes. Police ask that anybody who has seen him or knows where he is to contact a VBPD missing person detective at 757-385-4101. The Virginia State Police issued an Amber Alert for the three youngsters at 2 a.m.
The kids all have brown eyes and hair.
- Zayir Plummer is about 4 feet and 100 pounds. He was last seen wearing gray jeans and a black jacket.
- Zayin Plummer is approximately 4 feet, 100 pounds, and was last seen wearing rust-colored jeans and a light blue shirt.
- Za’riyah Plummer is around 24 inches long and weighs 40 pounds. She was last spotted wearing pink tights and a Trolls outfit.
