Vinton Fitzgerald Dawson Obituary, Death; – A man from Killingworth, who was struck by a vehicle while assisting with a disabled car on Interstate 95 south on Saturday, has succumbed to his injuries, according to officials.
Connecticut State Police have identified the individual as 61-year-old Vinton Fitzgerald Dawson, a resident of Chittenden Road, who passed away at Bridgeport Hospital on Monday.
Authorities reported that Dawson was aiding a disabled tractor-trailer on the right shoulder of I-95 south around 2 a.m. Saturday, close to the Exit 34 entrance ramp. A white Hyundai Genesis veered onto the shoulder, collided with Dawson, and subsequently left the scene, as stated by the police.
The Milford Fire Department was responsible for transporting Dawson to the hospital, according to police reports. The accident reconstruction team has been deployed to investigate the incident, but they have yet to determine the registration details of the Hyundai involved.
