Tyrone Crawford Obituary, Death;- A deputy from Brazoria County was fatally shot in Houston on Wednesday while attempting to execute a warrant. Authorities reported on Wednesday that a 30-year-old man has been arrested for the alleged murder of his 64-year-old roommate in Long Beach.
At approximately 9 a.m. on Tuesday, law enforcement responded to reports of a potential suicide in the 3000 block of Gold Star Drive, located in the Upper Westside area of the city, as stated by the Long Beach Police Department.
Upon arrival, officers discovered the deceased victim, identified as Tyrone Crawford, who had sustained a gunshot wound to the upper body. The suspect, Trayen Gaston, was present at the scene when the officers arrived and was subsequently taken into custody as part of the ongoing investigation. Homicide detectives later established that the two men resided together and collected evidence linking Gaston to the murder, leading to his arrest, according to the LBPD.
Gaston was transported to Long Beach City Jail, where he was booked on charges of murder, possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, and possession of ammunition by a prohibited person. His bail has been set at $2 million. The motive behind the shooting remains under investigation.
Detectives are anticipated to present the case to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office within the week.
