Tyler Shaule London ON Death and Obituary – The tragic loss of Tyler Shaule, Executive Director at Forest Cliff Camps in London, Ontario, has left the camp community and the broader region in mourning. Shaule passed away in a fatal traffic accident, cutting short a life dedicated to youth development, Christian ministry, and service to others. Tyler’s untimely death has left a deep void in the lives of those who knew him, particularly the young people and families whose lives he touched through his leadership at Forest Cliff Camps.

Tyler’s journey with Forest Cliff Camps began more than two decades ago when he attended the camp as a young camper. His connection to the camp grew over time, eventually leading him to take on a variety of roles, from volunteer and counselor to Assistant Director and finally, Executive Director. This long-standing commitment to Forest Cliff Camps reflects not only his passion for youth development but also his unwavering belief in the power of camp experiences to foster faith and personal growth.

In 2013, after a successful eight-year career as a secondary school teacher with the Thames Valley District School Board, Tyler returned to Forest Cliff Camps with a new vision and drive to lead the organization. Under his leadership, the camp flourished, experiencing significant growth in both its programs and outreach efforts. One of his most notable achievements was the creation of the “Stocking Stuffer Swag Bag” initiative, a fundraising campaign that not only provided gifts to children but also encouraged ongoing donations to support camp scholarships. This innovative campaign resulted in an impressive 883% return on investment, which allowed the camp to offer more scholarships and make its programs accessible to a wider range of children, regardless of financial background.

Tyler’s leadership was characterized by a blend of strategic thinking, deep faith, and genuine compassion. His unique educational background, which included certificates in Outdoor Recreation and Biblical Studies from Summit College and a dual Bachelor’s degree in Medical Biophysics and Education from the University of Western Ontario, gave him a well-rounded perspective that he applied to his leadership style. He was known for his ability to connect with people of all ages, inspiring them through his infectious enthusiasm, wisdom, and spiritual guidance.

Family was a central aspect of Tyler’s life. He met his wife, Janet, at Forest Cliff Camp in 2000, and the couple built a life rooted in faith, service, and love. Together, they raised three children—Owen, Theodore, and Elliott—who were an integral part of their journey. Known affectionately by their camp nicknames “Rover” and “Kiwi,” Tyler and Janet’s partnership extended beyond their personal lives and into their work at Forest Cliff Camps. Tyler’s devotion to his family and community was a key element of his legacy.

The news of Tyler’s death has sent shockwaves throughout the community, and tributes have poured in from colleagues, campers, and families who remember him for his unwavering dedication, warm spirit, and leadership. Memorial services and initiatives to honor his memory are being planned by Forest Cliff Camps, and the community is coming together to support one another in this difficult time.

Tyler’s impact on Forest Cliff Camps will be felt for generations to come. His legacy of compassionate leadership, faith-driven service, and commitment to youth development will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing him. In his honor, the Shaule family has requested that donations be made to the Forest Cliff Camps scholarship fund, ensuring that Tyler’s mission of inclusivity and opportunity remains alive for future campers.

As plans for memorial services unfold, the community will undoubtedly remember Tyler Shaule as a devoted family man, a visionary leader, and a man whose life reflected the values of faith, compassion, and service. His passing marks the end of an era at Forest Cliff Camps, but his spirit and influence will continue to guide the camp for years to come.
