According to Marion County Sheriff’s officials, on Tuesday around 11:15 a.m., Ocala Police Detective Thomas initiated a traffic stop on a motorcycle with two riders near the 7-Eleven located at 917 N Pine Ave. However, instead of stopping, the motorcycle fled the scene, running a red light at the intersection of N Pine Ave.
and NW 10th St. This reckless action resulted in a collision with a Marion County government pickup truck. Both the motorcycle driver and the female passenger sustained critical injuries from the crash. Emergency responders quickly transported them to a nearby hospital for urgent medical care. Fortunately, the driver of the pickup truck was not injured in the incident.
