70-year-old Charles Thomas Corn and 56-year-old Davis Edward Frasher, both from Morganton, were arrested by Officers with the Morganton Department of Public Safety Monday (June 3) on drug charges. They were both charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia. Corn was also charged with possession with intent to manufacture, sell, or deliver a schedule II controlled substance, possession with intent to manufacture, sell, or deliver marijuana, maintaining a vehicle or dwelling for controlled substances, simple possession of a schedule VI controlled substance, and driving while license revoked. In addition, Frasher was served with an outstanding order for arrest on an unspecified charge.
They were arrested following a vehicle stop near Morganton Heights Boulevard after Officers learned that the registered owner of the vehicle had a suspended license. During the course of the investigation, Officers found 5.1 grams of meth, 37 grams of marijuana, and drug paraphernalia in the vehicle.
Corn received a $75,000 secured bond, while bond for Frasher was set at $79,000. Both suspects were scheduled to make first appearances in District Court today (June 4) in Morganton.
