(PINPOINT WEATHER) — Tuesday starts off quiet and chilly as the 40s have settled in across the Carolinas. Some of our mountain counties can dip into the upper 30s before sunny skies dominate heading into this Tuesday afternoon.
Winds are light out of the northwest but will shift out of the south-southwest Tuesday afternoon and become breezy heading into the peak heating hours of the day. Winds will be between 10 and 15 miles per hour, with wind gusts reaching as fast as 28 miles per hour at times.

Temperatures will make a run for the low to mid-70s after starting off in the 30s and 40s. A mix of sun and clouds will keep us mostly dry ahead of a low-pressure system tracking south toward our mountain counties.
We’ll hold on to a low rain chance for the I-40 corridor and areas north heading into Tuesday evening. Lows will dip into the 40s and 30s again as we head into Wednesday. Cooler temperatures will take hold through mid-week, with the upper 60s on tap for Wednesday and Thursday.
The warmer temperatures will return heading into the weekend, with Friday getting back into the upper 70s. We’ll be near 80 degrees on Saturday to start the weekend with rain and storm chances rolling in Sunday into Monday.

We’ll hold on to the upper 70s and spotty storms to kick off the work week on Monday of next week.
Tuesday: Breezy & Warm with a Mix of Sun & Clouds. High: 74.
