With profound sadness, we share the news of the passing of Troy Spencer, a beloved member of the Lubbers family and a cherished figure in our community. Troy’s unexpected departure has left a void in our hearts and a sense of loss deeply felt by all who knew him.
For 17 years, Troy dedicated himself to serving as a Ford salesman at Lubbers, where he became synonymous with integrity, professionalism, and genuine care for his customers. His commitment to excellence and his passion for his work were evident in every interaction, earning him the trust and admiration of colleagues and clients. His desk was more than just a place of business; it was a beacon of trust and reliability for countless families seeking their perfect vehicle.
Troy’s journey in the automotive industry began humbly, yet his passion and dedication propelled him to become a cornerstone of the Lubbers team. He was known not just for his sales acumen but for the relationships he built. Clients often spoke of his uncanny ability to remember personal details, from their children’s names to the specifics of their car preferences. These seemingly small gestures were a testament to Troy’s genuine care and investment in the lives of those he served.
Beyond his professional life, Troy was the epitome of a gentleman, a devoted family man, and a true friend. His warm smile, kind words, and unwavering support touched the lives of all who crossed his path, leaving an indelible mark on our hearts and memories. He was a loving husband and father at home, whose family meant the world to him. His wife, Linda, and their children, Nathan and Emily, were the anchors of his life, providing him with boundless joy and purpose.
Troy’s commitment to his community extended far beyond his role at Lubbers. He was involved in local charity events, often spearheading initiatives supporting underprivileged families and community projects. His generosity knew no bounds; many will recall his frequent participation in fundraisers and community drives. Troy’s efforts were not about recognition but about making a tangible difference in the lives of others, a reflection of his deeply rooted values of kindness and compassion.
As we come to terms with the loss of Troy, we take comfort in the legacy of kindness and compassion that he leaves behind. His presence brought light to our workplace and joy to our lives, and his absence will be keenly felt by all of us at Lubbers and in the broader community. Colleagues remember him as a teammate, mentor, and friend. His ability to lift spirits and foster a positive work environment was unparalleled, making Lubbers a place of work and a family.
Tributes have poured in from those who knew Troy best, each painting a picture of a man who was much more than his job title. Longtime friend and colleague Jerry Roberts shared, “Troy made you feel like you were the most important person in the room. His sincerity was palpable, and his friendship was a gift.” Another colleague, Lisa Tran, reflected on their countless lunches and conversations, noting, “Troy’s wisdom and humour were a constant source of inspiration. He had a unique ability to make the mundane extraordinary.”
During this incredibly difficult time, we pray with Troy’s wife, family, and loved ones. May they find strength in the cherished memories they shared with Troy and in the outpouring of love and support from those whose lives he touched. The community has rallied around the Spencer family, offering solace and sharing stories that highlight Troy’s profound impact on so many.
A funeral service to honour and celebrate Troy’s life will be held on Saturday, June 10th, at 11:00 am at St. Mark’s Church. The service will allow friends, family, and the community to come together, share memories, and pay their respects. In lieu of flowers, the Spencer family kindly requests donations to the local community centre, where Troy spent many hours volunteering and supporting community initiatives.
In the days and weeks ahead, as we navigate the sorrow of losing Troy, let us remember the joy and light he brought into our lives. His legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him, and in the community that he so deeply cherished and served. Each car he sold, each handshake, and each conversation left a mark that would not soon fade.
Though Troy may no longer walk among us, his spirit will forever live on in the hearts and memories of those he touched. As we bid him farewell, let us take solace in knowing that he has left an indelible mark on the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him. Rest in peace, Troy. You will be dearly missed, but never forgotten.
