Tonya Bamber Obituary, Woman killed in crash on Tuesday afternoon in St. Helena Parish; The Louisiana State Police are investigating a fatal car crash that occurred Tuesday afternoon in St. Helena Parish. Troopers were dispatched to the scene around 1:15 p.m. on Louisiana 43 at Guy Road. The victim has been identified as 54-year-old Tonya Bamber from Greensburg.
According to the LSP, Bamber was driving north on Louisiana 43 in a 2023 Hyundai Palisade when her vehicle veered off the right side of the road, struck a tree, and subsequently caught fire. Tragically, Bamber was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities have yet to determine whether Bamber was wearing a seatbelt or if impairment played a role in the accident. A routine toxicology sample was collected for testing. The investigation is ongoing.
