Toni-Lynn Marie Trabb Obituary, Death; – A homicide victim discovered in a hotel on Monday was identified on Tuesday as 58-year-old Toni-Lynn Marie Trabb from Port St. Lucie, as reported by the Sheriff’s Office.
According to authorities, cleaning personnel at the Best Western hotel, located in the 7900 block of South U.S. 1, found Trabb around 11:05 a.m. on Monday in a room on the second floor. The hotel is situated on the east side of South U.S. 1, just south of Prima Vista Boulevard.
Sheriff’s Lt. Andrew Bolonka, the agency spokesperson, stated during a briefing on Monday that the staff summoned maintenance workers to assist, who then checked on Trabb and found she had no pulse. They subsequently called 911, and emergency responders along with St. Lucie County deputies arrived at the scene simultaneously. Rescue personnel pronounced the woman deceased, Bolonka confirmed.
Initially, the Sheriff’s Office characterized the incident as a “suspicious death,” but later that afternoon, officials executed a search warrant, and the Medical Examiner’s Office along with crime-scene investigators concluded that the death was a homicide.
Bolonka refrained from disclosing the factors that led investigators to classify the death as a homicide. He noted that a man had rented the room using a woman’s credit card shortly after 5:30 p.m. on Sunday.
He could not clarify the connection, if any, between the credit card and Trabb. The man was not present at the scene. When asked later about this individual, Bolonka mentioned that investigators have identified a person of interest, although that person is not currently in custody.
The investigation is ongoing, as stated by sheriff’s officials on Tuesday.
