Thomas Williams,Marsena Moore Obituary, Death; – On January 20, a shooting incident occurred at a residence on Poplar Hill Drive, resulting in the deaths of two men and one woman.
The identities of the three victims were disclosed by the Berkeley County coroner on January 21. The deceased have been identified as Thomas Williams, 56, from Ridgeville; Torrionda Taylor, 46, from Cross; and Marsena Moore, 55, from Summerville, all of whom succumbed to gunshot wounds. Autopsies for all three individuals have been arranged, as stated by Coroner Darnell Hartwell.
While Hartwell could not confirm any familial relationship among the victims, he indicated to The Post and Courier that they were acquainted with one another.
As of now, the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office has not identified any suspects in connection with the homicides, according to spokesperson Cpl. Carli Carr. “Currently, we do not have any leads,” Carr remarked on January 21. “Our detectives are diligently working to gather information from the public.”
The initial emergency call was received shortly after 2:30 p.m. on January 20. Carr described the investigation as “fluid” in a press release that provided limited details. An incident report with further information has yet to be released.

This incident marks the second homicide that the sheriff’s office has addressed in 2025. In the previous year, Berkeley detectives investigated a total of 11 deaths, as recorded by The Post and Courier.
