Police search teams have found the body of missing Nantwich teenager Jonty Evans this evening.
They confirmed that the body was found at around 17:15 today.
He has not been officially identified, but police say they believe he is 16-year-old Jonty.
Officers and search and rescue teams were scouring areas near the River Weaver, Lake Nantwich and Mill Island.
Jonty, from Buddington, went missing on Friday night at around 11pm and her bag was found on Mill Island on Saturday morning.
Friends and family members joined the search today.
A Cheshire Police spokesman said: “At around 5.13pm on Sunday 1st September, police while searching the River Weaver near Riverside, Nantwich, as part of their investigation into a report of a missing teenager, unfortunately found a body.
“Although no formal identification has yet taken place, it is believed to be a 16-year-old boy who has been missing from the Nantwich area since August 30.
“Relatives have been informed.”
