Tampa FLA Shooting, Woman kills roommate because he ‘did not clean up after himself; A 71-year-old woman in Tampa faces a murder charge after claiming she killed the man she was living with because he wouldn’t clean up after himself, police said.
The investigation began just before 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday at a home on East 26th Avenue in Tampa. Police received a call about a shooting that had just occurred. When they arrived, officers found a man who had been shot multiple times. He was rushed to the hospital, where he later died. His name has not been released.
Detectives revealed that 71-year-old Patricia Whitehead and the victim lived together. Police did not provide details about their relationship.
According to the police report, Whitehead became angry with the man, “claiming he did not clean up after himself.” On the morning of June 13, the man left the house and slammed the door behind him. Whitehead told police that she then went to her bedroom to retrieve her gun.
After getting the firearm, Whitehead reportedly walked outside and shot the man multiple times.
Police arrested Whitehead and charged her with first-degree murder. She was taken to the Orient Road Jail.
