Tammy W Sawyer,Jimmie R Bailey Obituary, Death; – The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) has identified two individuals who lost their lives in a significant traffic incident that occurred last Friday at the junction of Alabama Highway 157 and Alabama Highway 36, situated approximately six miles south of Moulton.
As reported by ALEA Senior Trooper Brandon Bailey, the victims were Tammy W. Sawyer, 55, from Trinity, and Jimmie R. Bailey, 71, from Bremen. They sustained fatal injuries when their 2017 Toyota Corolla was collided with by a 2010 Dodge Dakota operated by Jeremy L. Eady, 47, from Double Springs. Both Sawyer, who was behind the wheel of the Corolla, and her passenger, Bailey, were declared deceased at the scene.
Trooper Bailey noted that following the initial collision, the Toyota veered off the road and collided with a utility pole. Jason Jones, Chief Deputy of the Lawrence County Coroner’s Office, confirmed that there were no reported injuries in the other vehicle involved.
At the time of the incident, which occurred around 11:30 a.m. on January 3, all southbound lanes of Alabama 157 were closed, and a medical evacuation helicopter was dispatched to the scene; however, no individuals were transported from the site. Further information is not available as the troopers from ALEA’s Highway Patrol Division continue their investigation.
