With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Sydni Renee Angelle Penn, a beloved mother, daughter, sister, granddaughter, and friend. Sydni’s vibrant life was tragically cut short in a car accident on May 25, 2024, in Arnaudville. She was just 29 years old. Her sudden departure has left a profound void in the hearts of her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Sydni was known for being the life of the party, bringing joy and laughter wherever she went. Born on February 14, 1995, in Cecilia, Louisiana, she grew up surrounded by the love and support of her family. Sydni’s infectious personality and boundless energy made her a cherished friend to many. She had an innate ability to connect with people and would give the shirt off her back to anyone in need. Her headstrong nature and unwavering loyalty were evident in every aspect of her life, especially in her role as a mother.
Her children, Owyn and Beckham, were the center of Sydney’s world. She devoted herself entirely to them, ensuring they felt loved and cherished daily. Whether attending school events, organizing birthday parties, or simply spending quality time at home, Sydni’s love for her children knew no bounds. Her dedication to their happiness and well-being was the driving force behind everything she did.
Sydni’s parents, Todd Angelle and Shelly Landry remember her as a loving and devoted daughter. Her father, Todd, shared, “Sydni’s laughter could light up any room. She had a way of making everyone around her feel special and loved.” Her mother, Shelly, added, “She was my rock, always there for me with a smile and a hug. Our bond was unbreakable.” Sydni’s sister, Hannah Allemand, fondly recalls their childhood adventures and their deep bond.
Beyond her family, Sydni’s warmth and generosity touched the lives of countless others. Her boyfriend, Cain Richard, and his son, Trenton, became integral to her life. Cain recalls, “Sydni had a heart of gold. She welcomed Trenton and me into her life with open arms and unconditional love.” Her friends, too, speak of her as an amazing friend who always kept everyone laughing. Her best friend, Jessica, shared, “Sydni’s spirit was infectious. She had a unique way of making you feel like you were the most important person in the world.”
Sydni’s community involvement was another testament to her caring nature. She was actively involved in local events and charities, always ready to lend a helping hand. Whether organizing fundraisers or volunteering at community centers, Sydni’s contributions made a significant impact. Her passing has left the community in mourning. The outpouring of love and support from friends and neighbors has been overwhelming. Sydni is survived by her children, Owyn and Beckham Penn; her father, Todd Angelle; her mother, Shelly Landry; her sister, Hannah Allemand (Dustin); her boyfriend, Cain Richard, and his son, Trenton Richard; the father of her children, Mark Penn; her paternal grandmother, Trudy Thibodeaux (Gerald); her maternal grandmother, Katherine Landry; her nephew and godchild, Paxton Kidder; her niece, Andi Kidder; and her godchild, Breez Thibodeaux. She is preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Earl Angelle, and her maternal grandfather, Harry James Landry.
A funeral service to celebrate Sydni’s life will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, May 30, 2024, at Pellerin Funeral Home in Cecilia. Visitation will occur at the funeral home in Cecilia on Wednesday, May 29, 2024, from 2:00 pm until 9:00 pm, and will continue on Thursday from 8:00 am until the time of service. Pallbearers will include Dustin Kidder, Cain Richard, Chip Scoggins, Cameron Knott, Trenton Richard, and Jordan Meche. Honorary pallbearers will be Todd Angelle and Gervis Artigue.
As we come together to honor Sydni’s memory, we remember her joy in our lives. Her spirit, laughter, and love will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her. Sydni’s legacy is one of unwavering love, kindness, and strength. She will be deeply missed but forever cherished in our memories.
