Susan Williams Obituary, Death; – The individual accused of murdering an 80-year-old woman in Roanoke asserts that he committed the act to “maintain peace,” as revealed by search warrants obtained by WDBJ7.
Authorities arrived at the 2100 block of Yellow Mountain Road SE at approximately 5:13 a.m. on Wednesday, where they discovered a woman, later identified as Susan Williams, outside the premises.
According to court documents, 34-year-old Kurt James Davis was found in proximity to the crime scene with blood on his person and admitted to striking Williams multiple times with a rock.
During a police interview, Davis stated that he killed Williams to “maintain peace,” although no additional context regarding this claim has been disclosed. Williams was discovered outside her apartment building with significant facial injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators suspect that Williams was in the hallway of her apartment complex when she was assaulted by Davis, according to police reports. Davis has been charged with second-degree murder. Authorities indicate that Davis lacks a permanent residence and do not believe he had any prior acquaintance with Williams.
