Supposed Gunman Killed In Shootout After Three Women Killed In Bradenton: The Manatee County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a tragic triple homicide that occurred across three separate shootings in the county. The violent spree began around 9 p.m. on Monday at a Motel 6 located at 660 67th Street Circle East in Bradenton. Deputies arrived to find a 48-year-old woman dead from a gunshot wound. Witnesses stated that Javontee Brice had come to the motel and shot his mother for unknown reasons, then fled the area.
This horrific act was committed in front of her boyfriend and Brice’s two juvenile sisters. Shortly after, deputies were called to a second shooting in Palmetto, where a 29-year-old woman was shot while sitting inside her parked SUV. Despite attempts by Palmetto police officers to save her, the victim succumbed to her injuries about an hour later. Witnesses at this scene also identified Brice as the shooter. The violence continued as deputies were dispatched to a third shooting at 10 p.m. in Bradenton.
There, witnesses reported that Brice shot and killed another adult woman, who has been identified as the partner of Brice’s ex-girlfriend. Sheriff Rick Wells revealed during a press conference that Brice also visited a residence at Palmetto Trace Apartments where his sister and one of the mothers of his children lived. Although Brice threatened to kill his ex-girlfriend, his sister managed to calm him down, and he left the scene. “She said he was acting very strange,” Wells noted.
In response to these events, deputies issued a statewide BOLO (Be On the Lookout) for Brice’s vehicle. Law enforcement agencies tracked him down in Hamilton County, near the state line, at around 1:30 a.m. Brice was shot and killed after he fired shots at Hamilton County Sheriff deputies. Homicide detectives later discovered that Brice was traveling to Georgia with the intent to kill another individual. Another woman was with Brice at the time he was shot, and multiple investigations are now underway to understand the full extent and motivations behind these tragic events.
