(PINPOINT WEATHER) — Good evening and happy Saturday! We woke up to some icy conditions across the Carolinas behind the storm that moved through Friday, but thankfully for everyone outside of the mountains, we did get above-freezing temperatures this afternoon to help melt the ice. More chilly weather is expected across the Carolinas on Sunday, generally, we are tracking chilly and dry conditions as we head into next week.
As for tonight and your Sunday, we are expecting mostly clear skies this evening along with cold temperatures overnight as lows dip down to around 20. Sunday will bring more sunshine and chilly temperatures with highs in the afternoon that will be in the low 40s.
Heading into the new week we are tracking generally dry and chilly conditions across the region. Monday will be one of the exceptions with highs around 50 and mostly cloudy skies in the morning as a cold front moves through. Behind that cold front, we are expecting another drop in temperatures with highs in the low to mid-40s for the rest of the week with generally sunny skies.
Our next real chance for any active weather will come next weekend when another strong front is due to move through the region. Scattered showers and storms are expected Saturday into Sunday before another blast of cold air pours into the Carolinas. In the meantime, watch out for black ice tonight! Have a great night!
