Suceli Perez Obituary – Authorities in Tennessee are currently conducting an investigation following the discovery of the body of an 18-year-old woman in a truck bed in Knoxville.
The Knoxville Police Department was alerted on Monday afternoon about a man named Juan Carlos Diaz Perez who had allegedly caused severe harm to his girlfriend, Suceli Perez, at a residence on Mercer Street. Upon arriving at the home, detectives uncovered evidence indicating a potentially life-threatening assault had taken place. Neither the victim nor the suspect were present at the residence when law enforcement officers arrived. It was reported that Juan Carlos Diaz Perez had fled the scene in a white pickup truck.
Law enforcement officers located the truck at a park near the Oak Ridge Police Department. Although Juan Carlos Diaz Perez was not in the vicinity of the truck, the body of his girlfriend was discovered in the truck’s bed. Knoxville Police Department officers departed from the scene prior to 10 p.m., while officers from the Oak Ridge Police Department remained to search for the suspect. Authorities have classified the suspect as dangerous.
The investigating agencies received support from the Roane County Sheriff’s Office, Blount County Sheriff’s Office, and the U.S. Marshal Service. Individuals who encounter Juan Carlos Diaz Perez are urged to contact 911. The Knoxville Police Department has formally charged him with first-degree murder. The investigation is currently ongoing.
