Steven Shelton, Tammy Witham Obituary – The North Carolina Highway Patrol has announced that charges will be filed following a fatal accident on Sunday morning. The incident occurred on Highway 58 near Old Church Road, involving three vehicles. Steven Shelton, 48, attempted to pass another vehicle while traveling north, resulting in a collision with Dale Mangum, 64, who was traveling south. The crash also involved a Subaru Outback traveling south.
Unfortunately, Mangum and the passenger, Tammy Witham, 59, both lost their lives at the scene due to injuries sustained in the accident. Shelton was airlifted to ECU Health Medical Center in Greenville for treatment, while the Subaru driver escaped unharmed.
Following discussions with the District Attorney’s Office, the Highway Patrol has confirmed that charges will be pressed in relation to the incident.
